 The Cross we carry...

I got this from one of my very special friends and I had to share this one with you!  Thank you for sending it to me! This one really touched me! Bless you all, my God given friends!! Have a blessed day!! =)

We complain about the cross we bear but don't realize it is preparing us for the dip in the road that God can see and we cannot.

Whatever your cross, whatever your pain, there will always be sunshine, after the rain.... Perhaps you may stumble, perhaps even fall; But God's always ready, to answer your call.... He knows every heartache, sees every tear, a word from His lips, can calm every fear... Your sorrows may linger, throughout the night, But suddenly vanish, by dawn's early light... The Savior is waiting, somewhere above, to give you His grace, and send you His love.
May God fill your day with blessings!!

What is Sanctity of Human Life Week?

Sanctity of Human Life Week

January 20-27, 2008 marks the 35th Anniversary of the Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton decisions that legalized abortion in the USA.

Be a Voice for Life.

Why is it even necessary for us to set aside one week each year to turn our focus to the fact that all human life is sacred?

Many of you have never lived in an America where abortion on demand was not the law of the land. If you were born after 1973, you are fortunate to be alive. Since that time, every third pregnancy has ended in abortion. You are a survivor. Forty million of your peers didn't make it.

When I was a little girl, we began each school day with a devotion and prayer which was heard over the intercom and led by students. That was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Every classroom had a flag, which we all stood and faced as we recited the words: "I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, One nation, under God, indivisible with Liberty and Justice For All... (with liberty and justice for ... ALL.)

Fortunately, I was born into an America in which abortion was illegal. It was considered to be murder because the unborn child was considered to be a human being. All of that changed on January 22, 1973 with the stoke of a pen. No new law was passed by the legislative branch of government and signed by the president. Instead, the United States Supreme Court, by a vote of 7-2, declared what the Bible calls "the shedding of innocent blood" to be a constitutional right to privacy under the 14th amendment to the constitution.

The due process clause of that same amendment reads "...nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty, or property without due process of law, or deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."

However, the court declared that the unborn child was not considered to be a "person" and therefore was not protected by the constitution. The court ignored evidence which supported the fact that life begins at conception, which to this day is undisputed scientific fact. I have only two questions. If it is not alive why is it growing? If it is not human what form of life is it?

From the moment of conception, all the DNA is present to determine every intricate detail of that unique human being; information which will determine everything from the color of his eyes to some of his personality traits.

The Psalmist conveys the supreme Source of this miracle in Psalm 139:13 which reads "For Thou didst form my inward parts. Thou didst weave me in my mother's womb." In verse 16 He says "Thine eyes have seen my unformed substance, and in thy book they were all written, the days that were ordained for me shall when as yet there was not one of them." David knew there was a blueprint for his life ordained by his Creator. In recent history, God has allowed man the privilege of seeing in part this blueprint for life with the aid of the electron microscope. The cords of the DNA spiral and weave together just as the Psalmist describes.

But before we lost sight of the miracle of life, we lost sight of a Creator who formed us in His image. We as a nation abandoned the Biblical account of creation and embraced evolution as fact, not theory. From that point on we were no longer accountable to a Creator for our actions, and as the final verse in the book of Judges states, "Every man did what was right in his own eyes."

Situational ethics and a humanistic world view replaced absolute truth and a Biblical world view which had been in place since we became a nation whose motto is "In God We Trust."

Since 1973 over forty million (40,000,000) babies have died in abortion clinics; babies whose hearts had been beating since 18 days from conception. Forty days from conception, brain waves were detectable. At 8 to 10 weeks from conception they had fully formed, yet tiny bodies with unique sets of fingerprints and footprints. Most abortions take place between 8 to 10 weeks, however abortions can be performed right up to the moment of birth.

The Supreme Court has struck down the ban on partial-birth abortion which has become a legalized from of infanticide which allows for the harvesting of baby's organs while it is still alive. These organs are sold at exorbitant prices to fetal tissue research laboratories. The unborn are treated as nothing more than tissue. We who condemned Nazi war criminals in the Nuremberg trials now condone barbarism that has surpassed even Hitler himself.

And what about the mothers of these children? If abortion is such an important right to be protected by politicians and judges alike, it must be good for women. Statistics show otherwise.

One survey by the Elliot Institute showed that women who have had an abortion are nine times more likely to commit suicide than women who have not. Because of self destructive tendencies, general health is decreased. Involvement in alcohol, drugs, promiscuity, and domestic violence is increased.
-- 56% of women having abortions felt pressured either by other people or by circumstances
-- 84% stated that they would have chosen otherwise if options had been presented
-- 40% were still hoping for options while at the clinic
-- 70% of post-abortive women surveyed once said "I will never have an abortion."
Under extreme, fear driven pressure many of us will violate our moral codes.

God help us to life and light.

"Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider Him who endured such opposition from sinful men so that you will not grow weary and lose heart." (Heb. 12:2-3)

 Where is my Rainbow??

I went to work Saturday night for my normal 13 hour shift.
I thought since my DD has a sinus infection and I was feeling rather bad myslef that I had the same thing.

I work at a hospital as a Cardiovascular Care Nurses Aide in the Heart Institue. Not the best place to work with a sinus infection but what ya gonna do?

I took the appropriate measures and used the alcohol based sanitizer in between patients like I always do, and wore a mask the entire night. I didn't want to infect any of my patients. I told my Charge Nurse before I started my rounds and she was okay with me being on shift. She checked in with me all night to see how I was feeling and if I needed help. I muddled through and got everything done right on time. I only missed one blood draw on the first stick. I wasn't entirely off my game except with him. I had to stick him twice, but i got him. I was miffed. I aways get the first stick cause I am so meticulous about my needle placement before I go in. But one out of like 30 ain't bad for a sick chick right?

By the end of the shift I was weezing when I walked and feeling a bit dizzy. My eyes were puffy and my head was pounding. I was coughing harder and my chest was tight. My lungs burned when I took a breath in. I know that these are signs of something else. UH-OH.

I notified my Charge Nurse and she sent me downstairs to the ED. They took me right in. I saw a doc I knew and he took s look in my mouth, checked my breathing ect. It was weird having to sit there in the naked assed gown and get my vitals done and asked the stuff I spit out at MY patients allnight long. Talk a bout reversal.

*WOW, do you know your tonsiels are HUGE?* He asked.

Well that was nice to hear. Yeah, I do. We take them out and play ping pong with them on a regular basis.....

*AH, NO. But that explains why my kids said I was snoring yesterday....I never snore.* I say.

He sent for a speutum test and ect.

The verdict?
Apparently I don't have a simple sinus infection. I have a really aggrivated Upper Respitory Infection and I may have to have my Tonsiels out if they get more swollen. LOVELY.

So I get the laundry list of meds the doc wants me to take, including an inhaler and head to the pharmacy.
After waiting for 2 and a half hours, they tell me even with my insurence...THEIR insurence....at THEIR pharmacy.... this REDICULOUS amount. I Can't pay for that!! I can make MAYBE half if I don't put gas in my car for the next 3 days or buy any food for dinner that night. Not happening.

SO>>> I am hoping I don't get to much worse too fast cause I am having to tough it out with nothing until late monday morning when I am gonna contact my boss, the hospital employee benifit commitee, and my church.

HERE IS THE KICKER..guess who may not be able to work until she is better?? YEPPERS!!DING DING DING!! The answer is ME! More money and time lost and more bills unpaid.UGH.

Has anyone else been here? What did you do?

I have been praying HARD and am looking for GOD to step in somewhere.

Tribulations and trials don't last forever do they?

It seems like it is one thing after the other here lately.
I am waiting for the rainbow I know GOD has promised me to come after this extended period of rain.
I could use a bit of encouragement.
And a whole lot of prayer.

HELP!

My optimism is running a bit low...lol. BUT,I am still searching every cloud I see for my Rainbow. It has to be here SOMEWHERE.
