New York, Georgia, turn away same-sex marriage advocates
Dear *****,
Sometimes fighting the battles of the culture war results in some victories, and pro-family groups got two today.
Rulings issued by the highest courts of New York and Georgia upheld the right of the legislature and the citizenry to define and regulate marriage.
The Court of Appeals of New York ruled that the state's constitution does not require the legalization of same-sex marriage. The court said it was the legislature – and not the judiciary – that had the authority to alter the definition of marriage from the one man/one woman model.
Meanwhile, the Georgia state Supreme Court nixed a lower court ruling that had set aside a referendum banning same-sex marriage. The initiative had been passed two years ago by 76% of voters.
There is cause to celebrate these two rulings! The decisions by the highest courts of these two states fulfilled their proper judicial roles by denying the demands of sexual radicals who want to redefine the institution of marriage. This is a good day for pro-family folk in New York and Georgia.
But this fight is far from over. The high courts of the states of Washington, California and New Jersey will be making decisions on the issue of same-sex marriage, and no one knows how they'll rule. Plus, federal judges are already getting in on the debate over marriage and family.
These institutions will never be safe until the U.S. Constitution is amended to declare that marriage is between one man and one woman.
The U.S. House of Representatives will be taking up the Marriage Protection Act in the near future, so we'll be asking you to contact your congressman or congresswoman at that time.
Thank you for caring enough to get involved.
Sincerely,

Donald E. Wildmon, Founder and Chairman American Family Association | | | |

The New Statue of Liberation Through Christ is a 72ft replica of the original Statue of Liberty with a cross in the right hand and the Ten Commandments tablets in the left hand; designed to remind America of its spiritual liberation and its foundation in God.
Lady Liberation's theme inscription reads as follows:
Give me your POOR, BROKENHEARTED Your CAPTURED, BLIND, AND BRUISED Your huddled MULTITUDES yearning to be free; The wretched LOST SOULS from shore to shore, Send these, the SICK, OPPRESSED, HOMELESS The tempest LOST to Christ. I lift the cross as a symbol that CHRIST IS THE DOOR.
(Luke 4:18, John 8:32b, Romans 7:24, Acts 10:38, 2 Corinthians 4:3, John 10:9) |
 |
|
THE STATUE OF LIBERATION THROUGH CHRIST is symbolic of America exalting God, the source of true peace, joy, happiness, and contentment in life. She leads us to the pathway of freedom in all areas of life: spiritual, mental, physical, financial, and relational. Her message is clear: |
|
|
| |
But to us there is but ONE GOD, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and ONE LORD JESUS CHRIST, by whom are all things, and we by him. 1 Corinthians 8:6
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is NONE OTHER NAME under heaven given among men, whereby we must be SAVED. Acts 4:12
LADY LIBERATION extends the cross of Christ high above her head proclaiming to the world man’s true source of full and complete liberation; and that America belongs to God through Jesus Christ
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me.. TO SET AT LIBERTY... Luke 4:18
THE STATUE OF LIBERATION announces to our city, community and nation that Jesus Christ has come to free us from SIN, HABITS, ADDICTIONS, SICKNESS, DISEASE, HELL, SATAN, BONDAGE, LACK, POVERTY, FEAR, WORRY, BROKEN-HEARTEDNESS, EMOTIONAL PAIN, DISCOURAGEMENT, DEPRESSION, OPPRESSION, CURSES, OR ANYTHING DESIGNED BY THE KINGDOM OF DARKNESS.
 |
|
She depicts and combines Christianity with patriotism to showcase the origins of God’s design for America. She stands over 72 feet at the corner of Winchester and Kirby Road in Memphis. |
America was birthed out of desire for religious freedom and liberty. The Word of God tells us that God establishes nations for only one reason: to seek Him. (Acts 17:26)
This nation was designed by God to be a place where men, women, boys, and girls from every race, color, and creed could come and pursue God peaceably and worship Him as they so choose.
We praise God for Lady Liberty’s message of freedom from tyranny, dictatorship, communism, and monarchy; lighting her torch to mankind for freedom from physical restraint and allowing the positive enjoyment of various social, political, and economic rights and privileges.
Yet, Liberty’s message is still incomplete. It lacks spiritual liberty and significance. Millions find freedom from physical or social tyranny, yet they are enslaved in spiritual bondage and dictatorship by a spiritual enemy named Satan.
So where is America’s symbolism for God and His plan for man’s spiritual liberation? It is spiritual liberation that opens the door to man’s complete liberation in all other areas of life: physically, mentally, emotionally, and financially. (Romans 8:32, Matthew 6:33)
The purposes of Lady Liberation: |
|
1. To announce to America that JESUS CHRIST is Lord and the true source of liberty and provide a visual outward witness of the gospel to the world. (Philippians 2:11)
2. To restore the VALUE OF PRAYER for our nation, state, city, community and democracy. (2 Chronicles 7:14)
3. To reveal to the world that the GOD OF THE BIBLE has always been the God of America; to exhibit the faith of America's founding fathers. (Psalms 33:12)
4. To proclaim that the God of the Bible alone is to be WORSHIPPED. (John 4:23-24)
5. To glorify the TRIUNE GOD; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost. (1 John 5:7)
6. To promote SALVATION THROUGH CHRIST to America. (Acts 4:10, 12)
7. To demonstrate to the world that only RIGHTEOUSNESS and the LAWS OF GOD exalt a nation. (Proverbs 14:34; Ezra 7:25)
8. To demonstrate GOD'S REDEMPTION of man in every area of life: spiritually, mentally, emotionally, physically, financially, and relationally. (Romans 3:24; Ephesians 1:7)
9. To demonstrate how CHRIST SETS US FREE from any and all bondages or habits that hold mankind captive. (Romans 8:15, 21)
10. To display God's RESURRECTION POWER over death. (Philippians 3:10)
11. To redefine the Statue of Liberty to include SPIRITUAL LIBERTY that precedes complete liberation for our lives. (Romans 8:21)
12. To promote, protect, and/or restore the TEN COMMANDMENTS (or laws of God) back into public consciousness and in open display. (Exodus 20:3-17; Exodus 32:15-16)
13. To promote continuous RELIGIOUS FREEDOM in America. (Acts 17:26-27)
14. To promote godly values and restore America's Biblical JUDEO-CHRISTIAN foundation. (Romans 1:16)
15. To reconnect CHRISTIANITY WITH PATRIOTISM. (Acts 10:35)
16. A PROPHETIC SYMBOL that declares God's love and desire to reach the lost, the poor, the brokenhearted, the sick, the oppressed, and the captive, just as The Statue of Liberty welcomes the tired, huddled masses and homeless.(Luke 4:18)
17. To reflect God's love of ART THAT GLORIFIES HIM. (2 Chronicles 3:10-13)
18. To demonstrate the believer's authority to STAND against sin, Satan, and the world. (Galatians 5:1)
19. To pray and intercede for the PEACE OF JERUSALEM (Israel). (Psalm 122:6) |
|
The Symbolism:
The Lifted Cross THE CROSS OF JESUS CHRIST (New Testament)
THE CROSS demonstrates God’s love for humanity by offering His Son for our salvation. The Statue of Liberty represents America exalting Christ and recognizing that He alone is the way to God and the source of true liberation in all areas of life. |
|
|
|
The Seven Spiked Crown THE SEVEN REDEMPTIVE NAMES OF CHRIST
THE GOLD SEVEN-SPIKED CROWN demonstrates God’s benefits for man when he receives Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Each spike reflects one of the seven redemptive names of God. These names reveal His character. 1) God is our Provider. 2) God is our Healer. 3) God is our Peace. 4) God is our Victory. 5) God is always Present. 6) God is our Righteousness. 7) God is our Sanctifier. |
|
|
|
The Two Tablets of Stone THE TEN COMMANDMENTS (Old Testament)
THE TABLETS OF STONE represents the Ten Commandments and the importance of God’s laws in society to establish morality and values. Scripture says that if we reject God’s laws, then He will reject us. |
|
|
|
The Tear DEMONSTRATES HER CONCERN FOR AMERICA
THE TEAR represents Lady Liberation’s despair over America’s rapid decline from its Judeo-Christian values. She weeps for our nation’s self-destruction as the protective hand of God is removed. Yet, she realizes that there is still hope for America if we return to God through Jesus Christ. |
|
|
|
The Robe GOD'S RIGHTEOUSNESS |
|
|
|
The Brick Pedestal HER STAND FOR LIBERTY
THE PEDESTAL holds the tomb of Christ. |
|
|
|
The Broken Chain FREEDOM FROM BONDAGE
THE BROKEN CHAIN is wrapped around her left ankle and hangs over the left edge of the pedestal. It symbolizes freedom of any and all bondage. It is God’s desire to see mankind liberated in every area of life. |
|
|
|
The Dove THE HOLY SPIRIT
THE DOVE symbolizes the Holy Spirit. The Word of God says that where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (2 Corinthians 3:17). |

THIS IS BEAUTIFUL .....AND YOU WILL CRY... I DID.
Sally jumped up as soon as she saw the surgeon come out of the operating room. She said: "How is my little boy? Is he going to be all right? When can I see him?"
The surgeon said, "I'm sorry. We did all we could, but your boy didn't make it."
Sally said, "Why do little children get cancer? Doesn't God care any more? Where were you, God, when my son needed you?"
The surgeon asked , "Would you like some time alone with your son? One of the nurses will be out in a few minutes, before he's transported to the university."
Sally asked the nurse to stay with her while she said good-bye to son. She ran her fingers lovingly through his thick red curly hair. "Would you like a lock of his hair?" the nurse asked Sally nodded yes. The nurse cut a lock of the boy's hair, put it in a plastic bag and handed it to Sally.
The mother said, "It was Jimmy's idea to donate his body to the university for study. He said it might help somebody else. "I said no at first, but Jimmy said, 'Mom, I won't be using it after I die. Maybe it will help some other little boy spend one more day with his Mom." She went on, "My Jimmy had a heart of gold. Always thinking of someone else. Always wanting to help others if he could."
Sally walked out of Children's mercy Hospital for the last time, after spending most of the last six months there.
She put the bag with Jimmy's belongings on the seat beside her in the car. The drive home was difficult. It was even harder to enter the empty house.
She carried Jimmy's belongings, and the plastic bag with the lock of his hair to her son's room. She started placing the model cars and other personal things back in his room exactly where he had always kept them.
She laid down across his bed and, hugging his pillow, cried herself to sleep.
It was around midnight when Sally awoke. Laying beside her on the bed was a folded letter.
The letter said:
"Dear Mom,
I know you're going to miss me; but don't think that I will ever forget you, or stop loving you, just 'cause I'm not around to say I LOVE YOU. I will always love you, Mom, even more with each day.
Someday we will see each other again. Until then, if you want to adopt a little boy so you won't be so lonely, that's okay with me. He can have my room and old stuff to play with. But, if you decide to get a girl instead, she probably wouldn't like the same things us boys do. You'll have to buy her dolls and stuff girls like, you know.
Don't be sad thinking about me. This really is a neat place. Grandma and Grandpa met me as soon as I got here and showed me around some, but it will take a long time to see everything.
The angels are so cool I love to watch them fly.
And, you know what? Jesus doesn't look like any of his pictures. Yet, when I saw Him, I knew it was Him. Jesus himself took me to see GOD!
And guess what, Mom? I got to sit on God's knee and talk to Him, like I was somebody important. That's when I told Him that I wanted to write you a letter, to tell you good-bye and everything. But I already knew that wasn't allowed. Well, you know what Mom? God handed me some paper and His own personal pen to write you this letter.
I think Gabriel is the name of the angel who is going to drop this letter off to you.
God said for me to give you the answer to one of the questions you asked Him 'Where was He when I needed him?' "God said He was in the same place with me, as when His son Jesus was on the cross. He was right there, as He always is with all His children.
Oh, by the way, Mom, no one else can see what I've written except you. To everyone else this is just a blank piece of paper. Isn't that cool?
I have to give God His pen back now. He needs it to write some more names in the Book of Life.
Tonight I get to sit at the table with Jesus for supper. I'm, sure the food will be great.
Oh, I almost forgot to tell you. I don't hurt anymore. The cancer is all gone. I'm glad because I couldn't stand that pain anymore and God couldn't stand to see me hurt so much, either. That's when He sent The Angel of Mercy to come get me. The Angel said I was a Special Delivery! How about that?
