Bipolar Rollar Coaster

 When I was growing up....

When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tears with their tedious diatribes about how hard things were when they were growing up; what with walking twenty-five miles to school every morning .. uphill BOTH ways ....through year 'round blizzards. Carrying their younger siblings on their backs ... to their one-room schoolhouse, where they maintained a Straight-A average, despite their full-time, after-school job at the local textile mill ... where they worked for 35 cents an hour just to help keep their family from starving to death!  And I remember promising myself that when I grew up,there was no way in hell I was going to lay a bunch of crap like that on kids about how hard I had it and how easy they've got it!

But now that I have crested  the ripe old age of thirty, I can't help but look around and notice the youth of today.

 You've got it so easy!

I mean, compared to my childhood, you live in a damn Utopia!

And I hate to say it but you kids today you don't know how good you've got it!

I mean, when I was a kid we didn't have The Internet. If we wanted to know something, we had to go to the damn library and look it up ourselves, in the card catalog!!

There was no email! We had to actually write somebody a letter .... with a pen! Then you had to walk all the way across the street and put it in the mailbox and it would take like a week to get there!

There were no MP3's or Napsters! You wanted to steal music, you had to hitchhike to the darn record store and shoplift it yourself! Or you had to wait around all day to tape it off the radio and the DJ'd usually talk over the beginning and mess it all up! Most of the time you couldn't push the record button fast enough and miss half the first part of the song or your tape would run out and you would have to switch the sides half way through your fave song and then have to miss parts when you did it or start over the next time the DJ played it!!

We didn't have fancy crap like Call Waiting! If you were on the phone and somebody else called they got a busy signal, that's it! And we didn't have fancy Caller ID Boxes either! When the phone rang, you had no idea who it was! It could be your school, your Mom, your boss, a telemarketer, a collections agent, you just didn't know!!! You had to pick it up and take your chances, mister!

We didn't have any fancy Sony Play station video games with high-resolution 3-D graphics! We had the Atari 2600! With games like "Space Invaders" and "Asteroids" and the graphics sucked ! Your guy was a little square! You actually had to use your imagination! And there were no multiple levels or screens, it was just one screen forever! And you could never win. The game just kept getting harder and harder and faster and faster until you died! .... Just like LIFE!

When you went to the movie theater there no such thing as stadium seating! All the seats were the same height! If a tall guy or some old broad with a hat sat in front of you and you couldn't see, you were just screwed!

Sure, some people had cable television,(not me I had rabbit ears and two local channels..of PBS!) but back then that was only like 15 channels and there was no onscreen menu and no remote control! You had to use a little book called a TV Guide to find out what was on! You were screwed when it came to channel surfing! You had to get off your duff and walk over to the TV to change the channel and there was no Cartoon Network either! You could only get cartoons on Saturday Morning. Do you hear what I'm saying!?! We had to wait ALL WEEK for cartoons, you spoiled little brats!!

And we didn't have microwaves, if we wanted to heat something up ... we had to use the stove or go build a frigging fire .. imagine that! If we wanted popcorn, we had to use that stupid Jiffy Pop thing andshake it over the stove forever like an idiot.

That's exactly what I'm talking about!

You kids today have got it too easy.

 You're spoiled.

You guys under 30 ( you know who you are) wouldn't have lasted five minutes back in 1980!

 Saturday brain WakeUp

I know it is Saturday, But lets do some things to wake up our weekend brain.....

this is not a test - just a phenomenon. All readings are explained.

Read out loud the text inside the triangle below.

EyeTestT.gif

More than likely you said, "A bird in the bush," and........

if this IS what YOU said, then you failed to see that the word THE is repeated twice!

Sorry, look again.

Next, let's play with some words.

What do you see?

  EyeTestT.jpg

In black you can read the word GOOD, in white the word EVIL (inside each black letter is a white letter).

It's all very physiological too, because it visualize the concept that good can't exist without evil (or the absence of good is evil ).

                                                 Now, what do you see?

 Next one!

file00020.gif

You may not see it at first, but the white spaces read the word optical, the blue landscape reads the word illusion.

Look again! Can you see why this painting is called an optical illusion?

Onwards, now....What do you see here?

file00124.jpg

This one is quite tricky!

The word TEACH reflects as LEARN.

What do you see in this one?

file00220.gif

You probably read the word ME in brown, but....... when you look through ME you will see  YOU!

Do you need to look again?

TEST YOUR BRAIN

This is really cool. The second one is amazing so please read all the way though.

ALZHEIMERS' EYE TEST
Count every " F" in the following text:

FINISHED FILES ARE THE RE
SULT OF YEARS OF SCIENTI
FIC STUDY COMBINED WITH
THE EXPERIENCE OF YEARS...

HOW MANY DID YOU COUNT ? DID YOU SAY 3 F's?

WRONG, THERE ARE 6 -- no joke.
READ IT AGAIN !

Really, go Back and Try to find the 6 F's before you scroll down.

The reasoning behind is that t
he brain cannot process "OF".

Incredible or what? Go back and look again!!
Anyone who counts all 6 "F's" on the first go is a genius.

Three is normal, Four is quite rare.

Show this to your friends. It will drive them crazy.!

(And keep them occupied For several minutes..!)

Is your brain feeling empowered and wide awake yet my fellow streamers? This is the LAST one..Promise!

 OUR SONG

Today I was sitting at a birthday party for one of my high school friends children. He turned 3 today.

I was sitting at the park, where the party was held, watching the kids play on the monkey bars. The wind was cool and blustery. My hair was floating around me like the red cape it has been likened too, and I was listening to the sounds of the people I grew up with laughing.

There is a double edged sword to moving back to a place you grew up in,even more so when it is a small town. I knew these people when they were in the youngest of their adolencent stages, we shared them together good and bad...Now we are sharing our childrens stages.

I was taking in the smell of the burgers grilling, the sun shining down on my face and then I heard my trusty never leave the side cell phone ring.

I have a special ring tone for when my hubby calls me.Everytime I hear it I am transported back years in time to our very first date. We went to the one dollar theatre where they showed one brand new movie and one out of date movie for a buck a pop each. When we stopped at the theatre he told me that I got to choose the movie, but we agreed instantly. The brand new one.

We saw the movie *She's All That* with Freddie Prince Jr., Paul Walker and Matthew Lillard. It was either that or *The Godfather*!? NOT a first date movie?

We shared our first kiss in that dim little theatre sitting in the back row with our hands clasped tightly covered in popcorn butter grease. It was the moment I knew he was the man for me. I married him two days later.

Magic, pure and simple. When God was making him he had me in mind, and vice versa.

Our marriage has been NO fairy tale, more like a horror movie sometimes, but it endures becasue the word divorce is not in our vocabulary. When it seems like I can't take anymore and my bullcrap meter is overflowing and I am shooting sparks, I play our song and that love creeps in and soothes my torrental waters to a calm sea.

Right now he is taking a nap while I play on the net. I wish I was taking the nap!I crept in there and he is sleeping so peaceful I swear looking at him my heart explodes.

If only he stayed that quiet all the time! Oh well...

Have a great weekend everyone!

 P. U. S. H.

P.U.S.H.

A man was sleeping one night in his cabin when suddenly his room
filled with light, and GOD appeared. The LORD told the man he had work for him to do, and showed him a large rock in front of his cabin. The LORD explained that the man was to Push against the rock with all his might...

So, this the man did, day after day. For many years he toiled from
sunup to sundown, his shoulders set squarely against the cold, massive
surface of the unmoving rock, Pushing with all of his might.
Each night the man returned to his cabin sore and worn out, feeling that his whole day had been spent in vain.

Since the man was showing discouragement, the Adversary (Satan)
decided to enter the picture by placing thoughts into the weary mind: ( He will do it every time )

"You have been Pushing against that rock for a long time and it hasn't moved."

Thus, he gave the man the impression that the task was impossible and that he was a failure.

These thoughts discouraged and disheartened the man.

Satan said, "Why kill yourself over this? Just put in your time,
giving just the minimum effort; and that will be good enough."

That's what the weary man planned to do, but decided to make it a
matter of Prayer and to take his troubled thoughts to The Lord

"LORD," he said, "I have labored long and hard in Your Service,
putting all my strength to do that which you have asked. Yet, after all this time, I have not even budged that rock by half a millimeter. What is wrong? Why am I failing?"

    The LORD responded compassionately:

"My friend, when I asked you to serve ME and you accepted, I told you that your task was to Push against the rock with all of your strength, which you have done. Never once did I mention to you that I expected you to move it. Your task was to Push. And now you come to ME with your strength spent, thinking that you have failed. But, is that really so? Look at yourself. Your arms are strong and muscled, your back shinny and brown; your hands are callused from constant pressure, your legs have become massive and hard. Through opposition you have grown much, and your abilities now surpass that which you used to have. True, you haven't moved the rock. But your calling was to be Obedient and to Push and to exercise your Faith and trust in My Wisdom. That you have done. Now, I, my friend, will move the rock."

At times, when we hear a Word from GOD, we tend to use our own
intellect to decipher what HE Wants, when actually what GOD wants is just Simple Obedience and Faith in HIM.

By all means, exercise The Faith that moves mountains, but know that it is still GOD Who Moves The Mountains.

When everything seems to go wrong... just P.U.S.H.!
When the job gets you down... just P.U.S.H.!
When people don't do as you think they should... just P.U.S.H !
When you can't find the right work... just P.U.S.H.!
When your money is "gone" and the bills are due... just P.U.S.H!
When people just don't understand you... just P.U.S.H.!

    P = Pray
    U = Until
    S = Something
    H = Happens

Share this little phrase with your loved ones and friends who may need it; they may get it just in time.

W. O. W for the week:

"Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending."
